Funding for the Arthur C. Clarke Award, the annual juried prize given to the best SF novel published in Britain, has been slashed, according to award administrator Paul Kincaid.
The decision by Rocket Publishing, Sir Arthur C. Clarke's UK representative, is part of general cutbacks, and includes all funding for the prize except payment of the prize itself, which is provided by Clarke.
Kincaid has posted this announcement of the news on the Clarke Award website, and seeks any help or advice on how to continue funding for the award. He can be reached at arthurcclarkeaward@yahoo.co.uk.
