Two paperback reprints debut on lists this week, David and Leigh Eddings's The Redemption of Althalus (Del Rey), and Terry Goodkind's Faith of the Fallen (Tor). The Times of London has included, unusually, the four "Harry Potter" paperbacks on its Paperbacks General list this week, ranked 6 through 9. The figures indicate the first book in the series has sold 2,098,866 copies to date. Terry Pratchett remains #1 on both UK hardcover lists, and #2 on both UK paperback lists. By the way, this chart will not track the latest "Left Behind" novel, Desecration, which debuted last week at #1 on several lists.

Columns show ranks on lists from, respectively, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, USA Today, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, London Times, Publishers Weekly, BookSense, Amazon.com (fiction lists), and Amazon UK (fiction lists). All lists rank hardcovers and paperbacks separately, except for the USA Today list, which is a single list combining fiction and nonfiction in all formats.

Note that some sources do not compile paperback bestsellers, and some exclude YA books (like the Harry Potter series) from their hardcover and paperback fiction lists.
