Stephen King's Wolves of the Calla (Donald M. Grant/Scribner) debuts at #2 on Washington Post's list, to rank on all lists charted below except Australia's. Anne Rice's Blood Canticle is still doing well on 7 lists. R.A. Salvatore's The Lone Drow is still on 4 lists; James Luceno's The Unifying Force, Niffenegger's The Time Traveler's Wife, and Neal Stephenson's Quicksilver remain on 3 lists each. Orson Scott Card's The Crystal City (Tor) debuts at #27 on New York Times's hardcover fiction list. Among YA books, Paolini's Eragon hits #1 on BookSense's children's list this week. All lists rank hardcovers and paperbacks separately, except for the USA Today list, which is a single list combining fiction and nonfiction in all formats, and BookScan, which combines hardcovers and paperbacks within lists for fiction, nonfiction, and children's. Dates shown are posted dates, except those in parentheses, which are dates compiled. New York Times posts its list one week in advance of print publication.

Note that some sources do not compile paperback bestsellers, and some exclude YA books (like the Harry Potter series) from their hardcover and paperback fiction lists.
