Margaret Atwood's Oryx and Crake (Doubleday) debuts on 4 lists this week, with Amazon still listing it as 'not yet published'. Also debuting: Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code (Miramax), on 2 children's lists, and USA Today's list at #19. The paperback of the 2nd volume, The Arctic Incident, debuts on 2 lists. Terry Pratchett's The Wee Free Men (Doubleday UK) ranks #1 on UK's Bookscan fiction chart for a second week. The second volume of The Science of Discworld is on the Bookscan nonfiction chart, also for a second week. Dates shown are posted dates, except those in parentheses, which are dates compiled. New York Times posts its list one week in advance of print publication.

Note that some sources do not compile paperback bestsellers, and some exclude YA books (like the Harry Potter series) from their hardcover and paperback fiction lists.
