Aspen Words, a longstanding literary program of the Aspen Institute, has announced the addition of a new Sci-Fi/Fantasy Writing Workshop, led by author Fonda Lee, expanding their current workshop offerings into genre literature.

The workshop is sponsored by the General Motors’ Future Fiction Collective, which “aims to decolonize the sci-fi/fantasy genre by increasing the diversity of authors and readers in STEM based literature.” They will provide 10 scholarships for writers ...Read More

Lambda Literary has announced open applications for the Writers’ Retreat for Emerging LGBTQ Voices, the “only multi-genre writing residency devoted exclusively to emerging LGBTQ writers”.

The Clarion West Writers Workshop has received a $10,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), as part of a round of funding totaling more than $88 million for projects across the country. Of that amount, $1,490,700 was granted to literary arts projects.

We Need Diverse Books has launched a new program, the Black Creatives Fund, starting in Spring 2021.
