2020 Odyssey Scholarship Recipients

The Odyssey Writing Workshop has announced recipients of several of its scholarships available for students attending in 2020.

Scott Gray won the Miskatonic Scholarship, funded by George R.R. Martin and covering full tuition and housing for a promising new writer of Lovecraftian cosmic horror.

Vikram Ramakrishnan won the Walter & Kattie Metcalf Singing Spider Scholarship, funded by Pam Metcalf Harrington, covering full tuition for “a fantasy writer whose novel excerpt shows great skill and promise.”

Rona Wang won the Fresh Voices scholarship, funded anonymously by an Odyssey graduate, and providing $2,000 toward tuition. The scholarship “seeks to offer opportunities for underrepresented racial and ethnic minority writers to learn at Odyssey and enrich the fantasy, science fiction, and horror genres as a result.”

Francesca P. Rahe won the Enchanted Bond Scholarship, funded anonymously by an Odyssey supporter to provide $1,000 toward tuition for “an outstanding fantasy writer.”

Maurice Haeems won the Quantum Entanglement Scholarship, funded anonymously by an Odyssey graduate to provide $1,000 toward tuition for “an outstanding writer of science fiction.”

The Odyssey Workshop will be held June 1 – July 10, 2020 at Saint Anselm College in Manchester NH. Guest lecturers include Brandon Sanderson, Yoon Ha Lee, J.G. Faherty, Barbara Ashford, E.C. Ambrose, Scott H. Andrews, and Carrie Vaughn, with Sheila Williams and John Joseph Adams appearing via Skype.
