Bacon to Be Writer-In-Residence

Eugen Bacon has been named the 2024 Hedberg Writer-In-Residence at the University of Tasmania in Hobart, Australia. Bacon will spend three months writing, teaching, and “taking part in community conversations,” and plans to work on researching and writing a new novel.

Bacon said, “In writing this black speculative novel, I hope to continue engaging with difference in cross-cultural worlds, climate action, social justice and developing culturally diverse and female characters as heroes.”
