2016 Clarke Award Shortlist

The six titles on the Arthur C. Clarke Award shortlist for best science fiction novel published in 2015 have been announced:

• The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet, Becky Chambers (Hodder & Stoughton)
• Europe at Midnight, Dave Hutchinson (Solaris)
• The Book of Phoenix, Nnedi Okorafor (Hodder & Stoughton)
• Arcadia, Iain Pears (Faber & Faber)
• Way Down Dark, J.P. Smythe (Hodder & Stoughton)
• Children of Time, Adrian Tchaikovsky (Tor)

This year’s judges are Liz Bourke, Leila Abu El Hawa, David Gullen, Andrew McKie, and Ian Whates. Andrew M. Butler is chair of judges. Tom Hunter is awards director.

The winner will receive a £2016 prize and a commemorative engraved bookend. The winning title will be announced in August 2016.
