New Hachette Imprint: Requited
Little, Brown Books for Young Readers has announced the launch of New Adult imprint Requited.
The slate of initial projects includes fantasy and romantasy titles by Jordan Stephanie Gray, and its staff includes personnel experienced in genre fiction and fantasy. Senior editors are Alice Jerman, previously at Entangled, and Ruqayyah Daud. Lisa Yoskowitz, LBYR’s Executive Editorial Director, will serve as editorial lead.
Megan Tingley, president and publisher at LBYR, told PW that “this [New Adult] category is growing rapidly,” and that YA authors wishing to branch into more mature content could be served by a transitional imprint within the same publisher. “They want to stay with their editorial team, [and] we can have this nice trajectory for people who want to start in YA, then grow with their readers.” In a press release, Tingley also highlighted Hachette’s track record of titles with crossover YA/adult appeal, including Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga.

We rely on reader donations to keep the magazine and site going, and would like to keep the site paywall free, but WE NEED YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT to continue quality coverage of the science fiction and fantasy field.
