2024 Dwarf Star Award Winners
The Science Fiction Poetry Association (SFPA) has announced the 2024 Dwarf Stars Award winners. The Dwarf Stars honor the best speculative poem of one to ten lines published in the previous year.
- WINNER: “关于树的无数可能”/ “the infinite possibilities of trees,” Xiao Xi, translated by Yilin Wang (Prism International Spring ’23; originally published in 风不止 [The Ceaseless Wind])
- Second Place: “All-Kinds-of-Fears,” Amelia Gorman (Dreams and Nightmares 2/23)
- Third Place: “Nikola Tesla,” F.J. Bergmann (Star*Line Spring ’23)
- Honorable Mention: “Souvenir from the Center of the Universe,” Peter Payack (limited edition coin)
- Honorable Mention: “Beyondness,” Lorraine Schein (Penumbric 4/23)
- Honorable Mention: “[for the always was]”, Patrick Sweeney (Five Fleas 8/5/23)
Winners and a complete list of selected finalists will have their work reprinted in the 2024 Dwarf Stars Anthology, edited by Brittany Hause. Nominations are open to anyone; finalist poems for the anthology are voted on by SFPA members. Award winners are selected by the editors.
