James A. Moore (1965-2024)
Author James A. Moore, 58, died March 27, 2024. Moore was an award-winning author of more than 50 fantasy and horror titles.
James Arthur Moore was born September 3, 1965 in Atlanta GA. He began publishing work of genre interest with House of Secrets (1995, with Kevin Andrew Murphy), and his first solo novel was Hell-Storm (1996). Other notable books include Under the Overtree (2000), Fireworks (2001), Bram Stoker Award finalist Serenity Falls (2003), the Seven Forges series, and the Tides of War sequence.
A frequent collaborator, he co-wrote Bram Stoker Award finalist Bloodstained Oz (2006), Bloodstained Wonderland (2017), and the forthcoming Bloodstained Neverland with Christopher Golden; The Haunted Forest Tour (2007) with Jeff Strand; Blind Shadows (2012), Congregations of the Dead (2013), and A Hell Within (2018) with Charles R. Rutledge; and Stalking Shadows (2020) with Mark Morris.
With Golden & Tim Lebbon he edited Shirley Jackson Award finalist British Invasion (2009), and with Golden he edited The Twisted Book of Shadows (2019), a Stoker Award finalist and winner of the Shirley Jackson Award. Moore was also a comics writer and a contributor to various franchises including the World of Darkness from White Wolf Games, Alien, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
He is survived by his wife, Tessa Moore.
