Kingsolver Receives Hay Festival Book of the Year Award 2023

Barbara Kingsolver’s Demon Copperhead (Harper) has been named Hay Festival Book of the Year 2023.

At the end of every year, we ask our Hay Festival audience which books they couldn’t put down. The resulting nominations are a varied and engaging snapshot of the year’s most impactful fiction, non-fiction and poetry.

Previous recipients include Jackie Morris and Robert Macfarlane’s The Lost Words: A Spell Book (Hamish Hamilton)

It was announced on November 21, 2023 before the upcoming Hay Festival Winter Weekend in Hay-on-Wye, Wales, to be held November 23–26, 2023. For more information about the Hay Festival, see the official website.
