2023 National Book 5 Under 35
Black Buck by Invisible Faces author Matteo Askaripour (HarperCollins/Mariner) and Night of the Living Rez by Morgan Talty (Tin House) are among the honorees of the National Book Foundation’s 5 Under 35, “a selection of five fiction writers under the age of 35 whose debut work promises to leave a lasting impression on the literary landscape.”
Each winner will receive $1,000 and will be honored at a ceremony. Selectors for this year were Louise Erdrich, Robert Jones, Jr., Jamil Jan Kochai, Kirstin Valdez Quade, and KarenRussell. Previous honorees include Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah, Akwaeke Emezi, and several other authors of genre interest.
