2023 Aspen Words Longlist
The 14-title longlist for the 2023 Aspen Words Literary Prize has been announced, including titles and authors of genre interest:
- Glory, NoViolet Bulawayo (Viking)
- The Last White Man, Mohsin Hamid (Riverhead)
- The Last Suspicious Holdout, Ladee Hubbard (Amistad)
- What We Fed to the Manticore, Talia Lakshmi Kolluri (Tin House)
- The Consequences, Manuel Muñoz (Graywolf)
Finalists will be announced March 6, 2023, and the winner will be announced April 19, 2023. The $35,000 prize is awarded to “an influential work of fiction focused on vital contemporary issues.” Finalists and winner are chosen by a jury, which this year consists of Rumaan Alam, Chris Bryan, Omar El Akkad, Teresa A. Goddu, and Dawnie Walton. The selection committee includes John Manuel Arias, Lee M. Harrington, and Onyinye Ihezukwu. Aspen Words is a program of the Aspen Institute.
