Greg Bear (1951-2022)
Greg Bear died November 19, 2022, after complications from a heart surgery. Doctors discovered he had suffered a number of strokes during the procedure, and a week after the surgery, in accordance to his directive, he was taken off life support.
Bear was the author of over 50 novels and almost as many works of short fiction, for which he won two Hugo Awards and five Nebula Awards and many nominations. He was a pillar in the Seattle SF community, and known for his kindness and generosity. He is survived by his wife Astrid and two children.
