Fantast Three Closing
Susie Haynes of Fantast Three has announced her retirement from bookselling, and will end operations in mid-summer. She specialized in importing and distributing magazines to the UK, and was for a long time the British subscription agent for Locus.
Haynes set up Fantast Three in 2008 following the death of her father Ken Slater, the well-known fan and bookseller since the 1940s, who ran Operation Fantast & Fantast (Medway) Ltd. He supported and supplied many fans, authors, and artists in their pursuit of SF and fantasy fiction.
Susie’s retirement marks the end of almost 80 years of service providing material to SF/F fans worldwide by the Fantast “family.” She expresses her thanks to the many customers who have supported the businesses.
While you are here, please take a moment to support Locus with a one-time or recurring donation. We rely on reader donations to keep the magazine and site going, and would like to keep the site paywall free, but WE NEED YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT to continue quality coverage of the science fiction and fantasy field.
