Saunders Wins 2017 Man Booker Prize

Locus Magazine, Science Fiction FantasyGeorge Saunders has won the 2017 Man Booker Prize for Lincoln in the Bardo (Bloomsbury).

The 6-title shortlist had two other titles of genre interest:

  • 4 3 2 1, Paul Auster (Faber & Faber)
  • Exit West, Mohsin Hamid (Hamish Hamilton)

Presented annually to the best original novel in the English language by a living author, the award includes a £50,000 prize. This year’s judges were Sarah Hall, Tom Phillips, Colin Thubron, Lola Young (chair), and Lila Azam Zanganeh.
