2022 HWA Summer Scares Reading Program

The Horror Writers Association (HWA) is partnering with United for Libraries, Book Riot, and Booklist for the fourth annual Summer Scares Reading Program. The program “introduces readers and librarians to new authors and helps start conversations extending beyond the books from each list and promote reading for years to come.”

Special guest author Alma Katsu and a committee of five librarians, Carolyn Ciesla, Kelly Jensen, Julia Smith, Becky Spratford, and Konrad Stump, will announce the selection of nine fiction titles on February 14, 2020. Authors of selected titles will participate in panels on May 13, 2022 (Librarian’s Day) during StokenCon 2022, which will be held at the Curtis Hotel in Denver CO. Ladies of the Fright podcast will record episodes as the official Summer Scares podcasting partner.
