The Outer Dark Symposium on the Greater Weird Report

The third annual Outer Dark Symposium on the Greater Weird was held March 22-23, 2019 at Hotel Indigo-College Park in College Park GA and Silver Screen FX Lab in Atlanta GA. There were about 80 attendees, in­cluding volunteers. The event was organized by Anya Martin and Scott Nicolay, producers of The Outer Dark podcast, hosted by This Is Horror.

Programming featured a welcome reception, panels, readings, special presen­tations, art displays, a mass signing, a Silver Scream FX Lab tour, and a live performance emceed by Professor Morte (“The Ghost Host with the Most” of Silver Scream Spook Show).

Guests and program participants included Mike Allen, Gregory Norman Bossert, Nadia Bulkin, Jesse Bullington, Nancy A. At­tending publishers were Mythic Delirium Press, Nightscape Press, and Pseudo­pod.

The Symposium was financed primarily through Indiegogo crowdfunding and sponsorships from various partners, including Argawarga Press, Broken Eye Books, ChiZine Publications, Eraserhead, Innsmouth Free Press, Mythic De­lirium, Undertow Publications, and Word Horde, among others.

Outer Dark is filing for 501(c)3 status, and is expanding next year’s event to two full days, March 27-28, 2020 in Atlanta GA, with plans to hold it elsewhere in future years.
