Young Lions Fiction Award Finalists

The New York Public Library announced its Young Lions Fiction Award finalists, and four of the five are of genre interest: Friday Black, Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah (Mariner); Freshwater, Akwaeke Emezi (Grove/Atlantic); Severance, Ling Ma (Farrar, Straus, Giroux); and The Third Hotel, Laura van den Berg (Farrar, Straus, Giroux). Graphic novel Sabrina by Nick Drnaso (Drawn and Quarterly) is the fifth finalist. The winner will be announced June 13, 2019.
