WisCon Withdraws Moon’s GoH Invitation

SF3, the parent organization of feminist science fiction convention WisCon, has withdrawn Elizabeth Moon’s guest of honor invitation for the 2011 convention. This action comes after weeks of debate (both publicly online and privately among WisCon organizers) regarding Moon’s blog post  “Citizenship”, which was perceived by many as derogatory toward Muslims and immigrants.

WisCon 35 will be held May 26-30, 2011 in Madison WI, with Nisi Shawl as sole guest of honor.
