New Imprint: Bloomsbury Archer
Bloomsbury has announced a new SF/F imprint, Bloomsbury Archer, and plans for it to publish “across the constellation of speculative fiction – from fantasy and science fiction to crossover, speculative romance, and from horror to myth retellings.” The imprint’s name comes from the current Bloomsbury emblem of the Roman hunter goddess Diana, “referencing the imprint’s pursuit of the very best storytelling and new stars.”
Vicky Leech Mateos and Noa Wheeler will be publishing directors, and Erica Barmash will be the vice president of marketing and publicity. Kathleen Farrar will be the managing director of group sales & marketing. Wheeler and Barmash will lead the imprint in the US while Mateos will lead it in the UK. Mateos said, “The aim will be to take books to market using Bloomsbury’s brand building toolkit…while holding inclusivity and the cultures of fandom and community close.”
The imprint’s first books will include Among the Burning Flowers by Samantha Shannon, a prequel to the Roots of Chaos series to debut in September 2025, and The Great When by Alan Moore, to release in paperback in October 2025. Later books will include As Many Souls As Stars by Natasha Siegel, Dawn of the Firebird by Sarah Mughal Rana, and Femme Ferale by Sam Beckbessinger.
