2025 Compton Crook Award Finalists
The Baltimore Science Fiction Society (BSFS) has announced the finalists for the 2025 Compton Crook Award:
- The Stars Too Fondly, Emily Hamilton (Harper Voyager)
- Sun of Blood and Ruin, Mariely Lares (Harper Voyager)
- The Book of Love, Kelly Link (Random House)
- The Wings Upon Her Back, Samantha Mills (Tachyon)
- Someone You Can Build a Nest In, John Wiswell (DAW)
The award honors the best debut SF/fantasy/horror novel of the year, and “includes a check for $1,000 and an invitation to be the Compton Crook Guest at Balticon for two years.”
The winner will be voted on by members of the BSFS. The winner will be announced in early April, 2025. The award will be presented at Balticon 59, to be held May 23-26, 2025 at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel in Baltimore MD.
