2024 LA Times Book Prize Winners
The Los Angeles Times has announced the finalists for their 45th annual Book Prizes.
Finalist for the Science Fiction & Fantasy category are:
- The Naming Song, Jedediah Berry (Tor)
- The Bright Sword, Lev Grossman (Viking)
- The Book of Love, Kelly Link (Random House)
- Absolution, Jeff VanderMeer (MCD)
- The City in Glass, Nghi Vo (Tordotcom)
Other finalist works and writers of genre interest include:
- Ghostroots, ‘Pemi Aguda (Norton), finalist for the Art Seidenbaum Award for First Fiction
- Orwell’s Ghosts, Laura Beers (Norton), finalist for the Biography prize
- James, Percival Everett (Doubleday), finalist for the Fiction prize.
Audiobook category finalists of genre interest include:
- James by Percival Everett, narrated by Dominic Hoffman (Penguin Random House Audio)
- George Orwell’s 1984 by George Orwell (adapted by Joe White), performed by Cynthia Erivo, Natasia Demetriou, Andrew Garfield, Tom Hardy, Chukwudi Iwuji, Alex Lawther, Katie Leung, Alex Lawther, Francesca Mills, Romesh Ranganathan, & Andrew Scott (Audible Originals)
