Inaugural Andromeda Award

The United Talent Agency (UTA) and Conville & Walsh (C&W) have announced the inaugural Andromeda Award. The contest aims to “seek out and support the best new emerging science fiction and fantasy writers.”

The contest is open to anyone based in the UK or USA with a full length SF/F novel. The first-place author will be awarded $5,000, second place $3,000 and a spot in Curtis Brown Creative’s nine-week Writing Fantasy course, and third place $1,000 and a spot in one of Curtis Brown Creative six-week online courses.

Submissions are open until December 18, 2024. Entries should be SF/F novels targeted for adult readers, and must not exceed 120,000 words.

The judges for this award include Susan Armstrong, Brandi Bowles, Alexander Cochran, Clare Conville, Ciara Finan, Gráinne Fox, Byrd Leavell, and Peter Steinberg.
