Banwo Wins Glass Bell Award
When We Were Birds by Ayanna Lloyd Banwo (Doubleday) won the 2023 Goldsboro Books Glass Bell Award, honoring a novel in any genre “with brilliant characterisation and a distinct voice that is confidently written and assuredly realised.” The winner receives a handmade glass bell and a cash prize of £2,000.
