2023 Books Are My Bag Readers Awards Shortlist

National Book Tokens have announced the 2023 Books Are My Bag Readers Awards shortlists. The award aims to “reflect the truly diverse tastes of real booklovers and the bookshops they love to visit”. Authors and titles of genre interest include:

Fiction

  • Yellowface, Rebecca F. Kuang (William Morrow)
  • Sea of Tranquility, Emily St. John Mandel (Knopf)
  • Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow, Gabrielle Zevin (Knopf)

Young Adult

  • Girl, Goddess, Queen, Bea Fitzgerald (Penguin)

Children’s Fiction

  • The Skull, John Klassen (Candlewick)
  • Impossible Creatures, Katherine Rundell (Bloomsbury)
  • Greenwild, Pari Thomson (Farrar, Straus and Giroux)

Breakthrough Author

  • Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah
  • Rebecca F. Kuang
