2023 Deutscher Science Fiction Preis Winners

Winners of the 2023 Deutsche Science Fiction Preis, presented by Science Fiction Club Deutschland (SFCD), have been announced.

Best German-Language SF Novel:

  • WINNER: “Athos 2643” by Nils Westerboer (Klett-Cotta Hobbit-Presse).
  • 2nd place: Interspace One, Andreas Suchanek (Piper)
  • 3rd place: Wo beginnt die Nacht, Sven Haupt (Eridanus-Verlag)
  • 4th place: Titans Kinder, Aiki Mira (p.machinery)
  • 5th place: Neongrau, Aiki Mira (Polarise)
  • 6th place: Das Geflecht. An der Grenze, Jol Rosenberg (ohneohren-Verlag)
  • 7th place: Roboter: Fading Smoke, R. M. Amerein (Atlantis-Verlag)
  • 8th place: Pantopia, Theresa Hannig (Fischer TOR)
  • 9th place: Reaktor, Timo Leibig (Belle-Époque-Verlag)
  • 10th place: Ruf der Unendlichkeit [Omni Band 3], Andreas Brandhorst (Fischer TOR)
  • 11th place: A. R. T. – Coup zwischen den Sternen, Kris Brynn (Regine Bott) (Knaur)
  • 12th place: Freier Fall, Hans-Jürgen Kugler (Hirnkost)

Best German-language SF Short Story:

  • WINNER: “Die Grenze der Welt” by Aiki Mira (Exodus 44).
  • 2nd place: “Morsche Haut”, Yvonne Tunnat (Der Tod kommt auf Zahnrädern)
  • 3rd place: “Hayes‘ Töchter und Söhne”, Thorsten Küper (Der Tod kommt auf Zahnrädern)
  • 4th place: “Fast Forward”, C. M. Dyrnberg (Nova 31)
  • 5th place: “Die Summe aller Teile”, Christoph Grimm (Alien Contagium)
  • 6th place: “Der blassblaue Punkt”, Helen Obermeier (Alien Contagium)
  • 7th place: “Briefe an eine imaginäre Frau”, Michael K. Iwoleit (Nova 31)

Winners were chosen by jury, and receive a €1,000 prize. Awards will be presented during BuchmesseCon, to be held October 21, 2023 in Dreieich, Germany. For more information, see the award site.
