Inaugural TikTok Book Awards Shortlist
Video social media site TikTok has revealed the shortlist for the inaugural TikTok Book Awards UK and Ireland, created in partnership with the Hay Festival. The Awards “will recognise the community’s favourite authors, books and creators, through categories inspired by the BookTok ecosystem.”
Shortlisted titles and authors of genre interest include:
BookTok Book of the Year
- Lies We Sing to the Sea, Sarah Underwood (HarperTeen)
BookTok Author of the Year
- Bolu Babalola
Best BookTok Revival
- Never Let Me Go, Kazuo Ishiguro (Faber & Faber)
- 1984, George Orwell (Secker & Warburg)
Best Book I Wish I Could Read Again for the First Time
- Noughts & Crosses, Malorie Blackman (Corgi)
Other categories include BookTok Creator of the Year, Indie Bookshop of the Year, and Best Book to End a Reading Slump.
