Two new releases jumped to the top of the hardcover list with Nona the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir, the third book in the Locked Tomb series, taking first place, followed by the final book in Naomi Novik’s Scholomance series, The Golden Enclaves. There were no new runners-up. We had 41 nominated titles, down from 50 last month.
On the paperback list, George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones prequel Fire & Blood squeaked past Ursula K. Le Guin’s classic The Left Hand of Darkness to take the top spot. Purgatory’s Shore (Ace), the first book in Taylor Anderson’s new historical dimensional travel series Artillerymen, is our new runner-up. Fifty-two titles were nominated, up from last month’s 50.
Long-time favorite, The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune returned to the top of the trade paperback list followed by Sarah J. Maas’s A Court of Silver Flames in second. The rest of Maas’s A Court of Thorn and Roses series also appeared on our list in third, fourth, sixth and tenth place. There were no new runners-up. There were 63 nominated titles, up from last month’s 59.
On the media-related & gaming-related list, last month’s winner, Dragonlance Destinies: Dragons of Deceit by Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman, shared first place with Ryan Britt’s Phasers on Stun! There were no new runners-up. We had 18 nominated titles, up from 17 last month.
