Random House Worlds
Penguin Random House has announced a new imprint, Random House Worlds, ‘‘dedicated entirely to licensed book publishing.’’ The imprint will be home to media-related books from ‘‘Star Wars, Minecraft, Stranger Things, Garfield, Magic: The Gathering, Lore Olympus, Critical Role, and others.’’ Vice-president and Del Rey deputy publisher Keith Clayton will serve as publishing director. All licensed brands published by Del Rey and other imprints ‘‘under the Random House division will now migrate their frontlist and backlist titles to the new Random House Worlds imprint starting in 2023.’’
Clayton says, ‘‘With a unified publication strategy encompassing multiple formats and genres, the Random House Worlds approach will enable us to have one conversation with readers, retailers, and partners, delivering best-in-class service to licensors and the highest-quality content to passionate fandoms.’’
Kristin Conte will be business director of licensing & brands; Sarah Malarkey will be editorial director for non-fiction & illustrated; Elizabeth Schaefer will be editorial director for fiction; and Alex Larned will be senior publishing manager for Del Rey & Random House Worlds.
