Death Noted: Aiki Flinthart

Australian author and editor AIKI FLINTHART died February 1, 2021, just over a year after receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis. After the diagnosis, she reached out to her favorite writers for stories, and created anthology Relics, Wrecks & Ruins (2021) before she passed. She was also the author of novels Shadows Wake (2018) and Blackbirds Sing (2019), the Kalima Chronicles fantasy series, the Ruadhan Sidhe urban fantasy series, and children’s fantasy series 80AD. She co-authored collection The Zookeeper’s Tales of Interstellar Oddities with Pamela Jeffs (2020). She also edited Rogues’ Gallery: Anthology of Scoundrels (2020), and wrote non-fiction including Fight Like a Girl: Writing Fight Scenes for Female Characters (2019) and How to Get a Blackbelt in Writing (2020).
Flinthart lived in Brisbane, Australia and is survived by her husband and son.
