Lacey Wins Young Lions Award

The New York Public Library announced Pew by Catherine Lacey (Farrar, Straus, Giroux) as the winner of its Young Lions Fiction Award for 2021. Temporary by Hilary Leichter (Coffee House) was one of the five finalists.

The $10,000 prize is awarded “each spring to a writer age 35 or younger for a novel or a collection of short stories” by a panel of judges. 2019’s winner was Ling Ma’s Severance (Farrar, Straus, Giroux) and 2020’s winner was Bryan Washington’s Lot (Atlantic).
