Barnes Wins Jerusalem Prize

Julian Barnes has won the 2021 Jerusalem Prize, given “to a writer whose work best expresses and promotes the idea of ‘freedom of the individual in society.'” The $10,000 prize was announced May 3, 2021 during the online Jerusalem International Book Forum. Judges for 2021 were Nurit Gertz (chair), Alit Karp, and Dror Mish’ani.
