2020 Elgin Awards Winners
The Science Fiction & Fantasy Poetry Association (SFPA) has announced the winners of the 2020 Elgin Awards, presented for the best poetry chapbook and the best full-length poetry book in the speculative genre. The Elgin Awards are named after the founder of SFPA, Suzette Haden Elgin.
- First Place: Soft Science, Franny Choi (Alice James)
- Second Place: Elemental Haiku, Mary Soon Lee (Ten Speed)
- Third Place (tie): The Comfort of Screams, G.O. Clark (Alban Lake)
- Third Place (tie): The Demeter Diaries, Marge Simon & Bryan D. Dietrich (Independent Legions)
Best Chapbook
- First Place: The Book of Fly, John Philip Johnson (Graphic Poetry)
- Second Place: The Last Mastodon, Christina Olson (Rattle)
- Third Place: Fragments from the Book of the After-Dead, Herb Kauderer (The Poet’s Haven)
The Dwarf Stars Award for the best speculative poem of one to ten lines and the Rhysling Awards for SF, fantasy, and horror poetry in short and long form categories were previously announced.
