Aros by Frazetta Auctioned
Frank Frazetta’s painting “Aros’’ (cover art for The Serpent by Jane Gaskell, 1968) sold for $300,000 in Heritage Auctions’ Comics & Comics Art Auction, held April 30 – May 3, 2020 in Dallas TX. Bernie Wrightson’s illustrations for the front and end- papers of a 1970s edition of Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley’s Frankenstein sold for $240,000. In all, the auction made $9,099,710, higher than the $7.3 million estimate.
