AO3 Unavailable in China

Hugo Award-winning fan fiction site Archive of Our Own (AO3) has been censored by Chinese authorities. The Organization for Transformative Works (OTW), the non-profit organization that runs AO3, confirmed that both ArchiveofOurOwn.org and AO3.org are blocked from view within the country, and said on Twitter: “Unfortunately, the Archive of Our Own is currently inaccessible in China. We’ve investigated, and it is not due to anything on our end. We’re keeping Chinese users updated on our Weibo.”

Locus Magazine, Science Fiction FantasyWhile you are here, please take a moment to support Locus with a one-time or recurring donation. We rely on reader donations to keep the magazine and site going, and would like to keep the site paywall free, but WE NEED YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT to continue quality coverage of the science fiction and fantasy field.
