Tokarczuk Opens Foundation
Recent Nobel Prize in Fiction Laureate Olga Tokarczuk has announced plans to create a new literary foundation based in Wroclaw, Poland, in a villa previously owned by poet Tymoteusz Karpowicz. The organization will offer scholarships to writers and programmers, as well as educational programs. She wants the foundation to foster international dialogue about the power of literature to impact the spiritual and the physical world, and to address social ills, notably the rise of xenophobia and nationalism.
