2019 Women’s Prize Shortlist

Circe by Madeline Miller (Little, Brown) made the Women’s Prize for Fiction shortlist.

Several titles of genre interest appeared on the longlist including The Pisces by Melissa Broder (Hogarth), Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi (Grove), and Ghost Wall by Sarah Moss (FSG).

 The Women’s Prize for Fiction celebrates “excellence, originality and accessibility in writing by women throughout the world.” The winner will be announced on June 5, 2019. The winner will receive £30,000 and a bronze “Bessie” trophy. The 2019 judges are Arifa Akbar, Dolly Alderton, Leyla Hussein, Kate Williams (chair), and Sarah Wood.
