2018 Stella Prize Longlist
The Stella Prize announced their 2018 longlist of “powerful books by Australian women” at a gala event held February 8, 2018 at The Melba Spiegeltent in Melbourne. Several titles of genre interest are on the twelve-title list:
- The Enlightenment of the Greengage Tree, Shokoofeh Azar (Wild Dingo)
- Terra Nullius, Claire G. Coleman (Hachette Australia)
- An Uncertain Grace, Krissy Kneen (Text)
- The Fish Girl, Mirandi Riwoe (Seizure)
Named for Stella Maria Sarah “Miles” Franklin, the first Stella Prize was awarded in 2013. Among other goals, they seek to “recognise and celebrate Australian women writers’ contribution to literature.” The winning author will receive AUD$50,000.
