The Baltimore Science Fiction Society has announced the finalists for the 2014 Compton Crook/Stephen Tall Award:

- The Enchanted Skean, Vonnie Winslow Crist (Mockingbird Lane)
- City of a Thousand Dolls, Miriam Forster (HarperTeen)
- Fire with Fire, Charles E. Gannon (Baen)
- The Darwin Elevator, Jason M. Hough (Del Rey)
- Shh! It’s a Secret: A Novel about Aliens, Hollywood, and the Bartenders Guide, Daniel M. Kimmel (Fantastic)
- Ancillary Justice, Ann Leckie (Orbit)
The award, which honors the best first SF/fantasy/horror novel of the year, will be presented at Balticon 48, May 23-26, 2014. Selection is by vote of the Baltimore Science Fiction Society membership.
