Galaxy Online

Galaxy Online, a broadband network providing downloadable SF programming, information, products, and services at www.GalaxyOnline.com, is set to debut January 1, 2000. With suitable computer capability, you will be able to download movies, interviews, TV series, etc., as well as written material. Company President and CEO Douglas E. Conway declared, ''We will provide entertainment, information, products, and services ... to online consumers -- anytime, anywhere.''

Contributors to the project include a number of SF writers and editors. David Gerrold is the Head of Development, with Daniel Keys Moran as Chief Technology Officer. Ben Bova, former editor of Analog and Omni, will serve as Publisher for projects including downloadable books and something like an online magazine, with Amy Stout as Editor-in-Chief.

The impressive roster of monthly columnists features Kevin & Rebecca Anderson, Gregory Benford, Jack Dann, Jeff Duntemann, D.C. Fontana, Karen Haber, Joe Haldeman, Elizabeth Hand, Anne McCaffrey, Mike Resnick, Spider Robinson, Rudy Rucker, John Varley, Len Wein, and Margaret Weis. In addition, Harlan Ellison will provide a twice-monthly column, Greg Bear occasional columns, David Brin occasional features. There will also be two interviews per month conducted by Paul Witcover, and artist interviews conducted by Karen Haber.

Further details appear in an article in the January issue of Locus magazine.
