Life in the Simulation: A Conversation with Daryl Gregory

Please join award-winning author Daryl Gregory and our editor-in-chief Liza Trombi for an online conversation about ‘Life in the Simulation: Writing From Another Reality.’

Are we living in a simulation? What is sim theory and how ‘real’ could it be? How do we reconcile that with our reality, and can we ever transcend our programming? Gregory delves into these concepts and more in his latest science fiction road trip book When We Were Real (Simon & Schuster, April 2025) as his characters tackle philosophical questions about life and what we value. Watch the full conversation below and find more video content on our YouTube channel!
