HWA Scholarship from Hell Open
The Horror Writers Association (HWA) has opened applications for its annual Scholarship from Hell.
The Scholarship from Hell is awarded annually to an applicant interested in attending StokerCon and furthering a career in horror writing. Per the Scholarship’s webpage, the recipient will receive “domestic coach airfare (contiguous 48 states) to and from the StokerCon venue, $50 for luggage reimbursement, a 3-night stay at the convention, free registration to StokerCon, and as many workshops as you’d like to attend […]”
Applications will be open through March 10, 2025. The recipient will be selected by a committee composed of this year’s StokerCon chairs. A virtual scholarship will also be awarded.
For information about HWA’s scholarship programs (including other scholarships, like the HWA Scholarship, the Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley Scholarship, and more), visit HWA’s complete page of its Horror Scholarships. For examples and coverage of past winners, see Locus’ coverage of the Scholarship.
This year’s StokerCon takes place June 12-14 in Stamford, CT.
