2025 PEN/Faulkner Longlist
The ten-title 2025 PEN/Faulkner longlist for fiction has been announced, with a number of titles and authors of genre interest, including:
- Ghostroots, ’Pemi Aguda (Norton)
- The Mighty Red, Louise Erdrich (Harper)
- James, Percival Everett (Doubleday)
- There Is a Rio Grande in Heaven, Ruben Reyes, Jr. (Mariner)
- Devil Is Fine, John Vercher (Celadon)
The prize “honors the best published works of fiction by American citizens in a calendar year.” This year’s judges are Bruce Holsinger, Deesha Philyaw, and Luis Alberto Urrea.
Five finalists will be selected in March; the winner will be announced in April. The finalists and winner will be honored at the PEN/Faulkner Award Celebration, held at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library in Washington, DC on 15 May 2025. The winner will receive $15,000 and finalists will each receive $5,000. For more information, including the complete longlist, see the PEN/Faulkner website.
