Seattle Worldcon Story Contest
Seattle Worldcon 2025 has announced a short story writing contest with separate categories for adult and young adult writers.
The winners in each category will be recognized at the convention, receive free memberships to the convention, and have their stories published in an upcoming anthology by Grim Oak Press. Stories must draw inspiration from our Worldcon theme: Building Yesterday’s Future – For Everyone.
The theme “was selected to invoke nostalgia for the hopeful science-fictional era of the early 1960s.” Adult stories must be between 3,000 and 5,000 words, while stories written by “young adults” (ages 18 and younger) should be between 2,000 and 4,000 words. Submissions will be accepted from January 5-20, 2025, and stories should be sent to writing.contest@seattlein2025.org as an attachment in .rtf or .docx format.
For more details, see the contest page.

We rely on reader donations to keep the magazine and site going, and would like to keep the site paywall free, but WE NEED YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT to continue quality coverage of the science fiction and fantasy field.
