Peter S. Beagle’s new standalone fantasy, I’m Afraid You’ve Got Dragons, moved into first place on the hardcover list with Rebeca Yarros’s Iron Flame in second. Our new runner-up was Horror Movie (Morrow), Paul Tremblay’s new ‘‘cursed film’’ novel.
The top of the paperback list remained static for another month with Frank Herbert’s Dune taking the top spot with a substantial lead over Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. There were no new runners-up. Fifty-nine titles were nominated this month, up from last month’s 53 titles.
Sarah J. Maas continued her domination of our trade paperback list with six titles on our list including A Court of Thorns and Roses in first and A Court of Wings and Ruin in second place. Robert J. Sawyer’s new book, The Downloaded (Shadowpaw Press) was our new runner-up. The trade paperback list had 66 nominated titles, down from 67 last month.
On the media and gaming-related book list Star Wars: The High Republic: Temptation of the Force by Tessa Gratton, barely edged out our three, tied, second place finishers Dungeons & Dragons: The Legend of Drizzt: The Way of the Drow: Lolth’s Warrior by R. A. Salvatore, Dan Abnett’s Warhammer 40,000: The Horus Heresy: Horus Rising, and Dungeons & Dragons: The Legend of Drizzt: The Way of the Drow: Glacier’s Edge by R. A. Salvatore. There were no runners-up. We had 18 nominated titles, down from 22 last month.
