Rebecca Yarros’s Fourth Wing held onto the top of the hardcover list by the barest of margins over The Familiar, a historical fantasy set in golden age Spain, by Leigh Bardugo. Our new runner-up was The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennet (Del Rey), the second book in his Shadow of the Leviathan series. We had 54 nominated titles, up from 51 last month.
For the second month in a row, Frank Herbert’s Dune and Dune Messiah dominated the paperback list in first and second place respectively. There were no new runners-up. Fifty-seven titles were nominated this month, up from last month’s 53 titles.
On the trade paperback list, The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu rose to first place, with a substantial lead over last month’s winner, Sarah J. Maas’s A Court of Thorns and Roses. Rachel Gillig’s One Dark Window, the first book in The Shepherd King fantasy series, was our new runner-up (Orbit US). The trade paperback list had 62 nominated titles, the same number as last month.
On the media and gaming-related book list, John Jackson Miller’s Star Wars: The Living Force took the top spot with a respectable lead over Cyberpunk 2077: No Coincidence by Rafał Kosik. There were no runners-up. We had 16 nominated titles, down from 27 last month.
