Iain J. Clark will design the base of the 2024 Hugo Award trophy, and Sara Felix will design the 2024 Lodestar Award trophy. Each year, the rocket-shaped Hugo Award trophy ‘‘is given a unique base design to reflect the personality of the hosting Worldcon.’’ The Lodestar trophy is also given a unique design every year. Felix previously designed the first Lodestar trophy in 2018. The designs will be revealed on August 8, 2024 at the opening ceremony of the 82nd World Science Fiction Convention in Glasgow, UK. Sarah Gulde has won the Trans-Atlantic Fan Fund (TAFF) to travel from North America to Europe to attend Glasgow 2024: A Worldcon for Our Futures, defeating Vanessa Applegate. There were 118 valid votes, 25 of which were submitted with no preference. The fund is currently administered by Michael Lowrey in North America and Sandra Bond in Europe. Worldcon will be held August 8-12, 2024 at the Scottish Events Campus (SEC) in Glasgow, Scotland. For more.
Kat Clay and Ian Nichols of Australia are the candidates for the 2024 Going Under Fan Fund (GUFF), which will send fans from Oceania to Europe to attend Glasgow 2024: A Worldcon for our Futures, the 82nd World Science Fiction Convention, to be held August 8-12, 2024 in Glasgow, Scotland.
