2024 Orwell Prize for Political Fiction Shortlist
The shortlist for the 2024 Orwell Prize for Political Fiction, given by The Orwell Foundation to novels and short story collections published in the UK which explore major political and social themes through a fictional lens, includes at least four titles of genre interest:
- James, Percival Everett (Mantle)
- My Friends, Hisham Matar (Viking)
- Orbital, Samantha Harvey (Jonathan Cape)
- The Future Future, Adam Thirlwell (Jonathan Cape)
The judges for 2024 are Lara Choksey, Peter Frankopan (chair), Alexandra Harris (chair), Sunder Katwala, Christina Lamb, Simon Okotie, Lola Seaton, Rohan Silva, and Ross Raisin. The winner of the £3,000 award will be announced July 25, 2024 at the prize ceremony in central London.
